Good things take time
You know often I wonder, why is it so difficult to find “your people” in college? In school, it was so easy to connect and become close with others.
I think for about a month in college, I was pretty much alone with no friends. The main reason was, that I wasn’t talking to people or socializing. So, if you want to make friends, staying open-minded and talking to people is always important. I thought that maybe I wasn’t being approachable, but again I also did not know how to make myself more approachable. It is very difficult to survive in college without friends, but then again, it’s not like not having friends is the end of the world. This is when I decided to be okay with being alone. To be honest it was easier said than done. I did feel very left out and lonely, but I decided to just accept my fate and move on.
After a while, I got used to the whole idea of not having friends, and that’s when I found my first few friends in college. This moment in my life made me realize that “good things take time” and that’s one lesson I'm not going to forget.
